Lawrelin Wine Cellars started as a desire to explore vineyards across the Columbia Valley and delivering wine with extensive bottle aging prior to their release. The result is one of the best kept secrets in the world of wine, with all bottles resting for more than 10 years prior to their offering. Broadway Wine Club is proud to introduce this unique vision to a wider audience.
Kendall Mix was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and first developed a passion for fermentation sciences after an elective class in brewing and winemaking. Determined to pursue his education further, he enrolled in the Viticulture and Enology program at US Davis before moving to Washington State to join Chateau Ste. Michelle, where he fell in love with the region.
Production has always been kept very small, typically only about 250 – 350 cases per vintage. That allows the wines to be extremely focused, with attention given to every detail of the process.
What really sets Lawrelin apart is the bottle ageing. Typically, wineries are not able to hold their wines for extended periods of time before release. By keeping our production levels extremely small, we have been able to provide upwards of 10 years of bottle aging for our wines. This allows the wines to reach a balance and finesse typically not seen in younger wines. Kendall strongly believes that wines become more interesting and appealing as they age. We think you will too.
