The flagship bottle for our next release is “La Source” from Evening Land, one of the most sought after releases of Pinot Noir every year. Their legendary 2012 bottle was rated at 98 points and number 3 in the world by Wine Spectator, and continues to amaze year after year. A partnership between Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman to deliver exceptional Pinot from a legendary Oregon vineyard, La Source showcases a beautiful aromatic range including black raspberries, pomegranate, spices and hints of peat moss. It will continue to evolve for many years to come. The label was designed by scenic designer and art director Anna Louizos and represents the source of creative endeavor.
We started Broadway Wine Club as a way to directly connect winemakers with Broadway fans in a world that was suddenly altered by Covid and this wine is a direct result. Usually reserved as the house white for a renowned three-starred Michelin restaurant in wine country, we partnered with Duncan Arnot Meyers and Nathan Lee Roberts to bring their wine directly to BWC members. This Chardonnay is a gorgeous representation of what a Chablis could be if grown in Santa Cruz. The vineyard is planted in a canyon where the vines struggle to ripen every year delivering a mix of high natural acidity, strong minerality, and notable salinity on the palate. This wine is an exceptional representation of the new generation or California winemaking.
It is an absolute joy to be able to share the wine from Lawrelin Wine Cellars with a wider audience. An underground cult classic, it’s unlikely that you’ve tasted a wine quite like this. Passionate about aged reds, winemaker Kendall Mix won’t release a bottle until he thinks it’s ready, and never before it’s 10 years old. So we present a 15 year old Cabernet made from some of the best fruit in Washington’s Columbia Valley. Blended with 10% Malbec and 1% Merlot, flavors of cassis and black cherries mingle with beautifully integrated tannins and a hint of leather, this is an opportunity to taste a perfectly aged wine without the need for patience of any kind.
Blend your love of wine and Broadway with Members-Only Events, featuring the brightest of Broadway’s stars. Our Inaugural Event welcomed Host Kate Rockwell, Special Guest Daniel J. Watts, and a Special Performance by Elizabeth Stanley.
Through our partnership with The Actors Fund, Broadway Wine Club will donate $10 per membership to The Fund. The Actors Fund has provided $16 million in emergency financial assistance to over 13,000 people who work in performing arts and entertainment, and we hope to amplify this amount.
How could we forget? As a member, you will receive wine at your doorstep every three months. Our wines come from the nation’s leading winemakers with a commitment to Broadway and artisanship around the world.
What a great idea! We miss going to the theater, and we miss sharing good wine with friends. Now that we live in a Zoom-centric, socially distanced world, this club is a creative way to capture a little bit of the things we miss. All three wines in the first allotment were outstanding. I’ve always been a big fan of Pam Starr, and the Cab-Syrah is a terrific example of her bold but balanced style. We’re already looking forward to the next offering!
Perfectly aged and wonderfully balanced, the cab and Syrah play off each other and lend to the lingering finish. This was the wine of night against stiff competition! Highly recommend this wine and loved the other selections in the Broadway Wine club too.
All three wines from the first shipment of Broadway Wine Club are fabulous. I got to try them all through a limited preview and they are great. Loved having a bit of age on the Ghostlight, it’s drinking really well. Can’t wait for the events to start, this is going to be fun!
I was lucky enough to try these wines during a limited preview release and they were gorgeous. Especially the Ghostlight from Crocker & Starr. I’ve had their wines in the past but have never seen them make a Syrah before. It was spectacular. And it’s rare to find a library wine like a 2013 just being released, so this is a rare find indeed.
Growing up in Oregon, I love my local Pinot Noir and Evening Land is one of the all time greats. Happy to see that more people will get to experience such a classic producer.
